Custom DTF Transfers UK

Order A-size DTF prints or 1-metre gang sheets. Vivid colour and opaque whites for cotton,
polyester and blends — perfect for sleeves, hoods, legs and pockets. Includes artwork
specs and a step-by-step pressing guide below.

How to Apply DTF Transfers (Step by Step)

These settings are what we use every day in our own workshop. Always test on the same fabric and colour before you run a big job, especially if the garment is new to you.

Quick Settings

  • Cotton: 160 °C, 14–18 seconds, medium pressure
  • Polyester: 138 °C, 14–16 seconds, medium pressure

Step-by-Step Pressing

  1. Set the press: Choose the correct temperature for your fabric (see above) and give the press time to warm up fully.
  2. Set pressure: Medium pressure works best for most garments. Too light and the edges may lift; too heavy and you’ll crush the fabric.
  3. Pre-press the garment: Lay the garment flat, smooth out any seams or folds and cover with parchment or a Teflon sheet. Pre-press for about 5 seconds to remove moisture and creases.
  4. Position the transfer: Place the DTF film print-side down where you want it. Take a second to double-check alignment and distance from collars or seams.
  5. Cover and press: Cover with parchment/Teflon and press for the listed time for your fabric.
  6. Peel the film: Our film is designed to release cleanly. Peel the carrier in a smooth, steady motion. If anything looks unsure, lay it back down and give it a quick re-press.
  7. Optional re-press: For a softer, more “sunk-in” finish, cover the print with parchment and press for another 2–3 seconds.
  8. Let it settle: Allow the print to cool before folding or bagging. Avoid washing or heavy stretching for the first 24 hours.

Pro Tips

  • Make sure the print area is flat – avoid thick seams, zips and pockets under the platen.
  • If edges lift after peeling, increase pressure slightly or give a short, focused re-press.
  • Always run a test press on the same fabric/colour when you change garments or suppliers.

Care: wash inside-out at 30–40 °C, avoid bleach and harsh softeners, and don’t iron directly on the print. Treat it like a good screen print and it will last like one.

Artwork Setup for the Best Results

Good artwork makes the biggest difference to how clean and sharp your DTF transfers look. If you’re not sure, send what you have and we’ll give you straight feedback.

  • File format: PNG or PDF at 300 DPI at print size. Transparent background if you don’t want a box around your design.
  • Colour: sRGB colour profile. If brand colours are important, include HEX or Pantone references in your notes.
  • Detail limits: Fine lines at least 0.3–0.4 mm; small text at least 2.5–3 mm stroke thickness.
  • Bleed: Add 2–3 mm bleed where artwork runs to the edge of a badge or patch.

How Our DTF Transfer Pricing Works

The products above cover most situations. If you only need a few front prints or left chest logos, the A-size sheets (A3, A4, A5 and smaller) are the easiest way to order – you choose the size and we print your design at that size on each sheet.

If you’ve got lots of different designs, name variants or logo sizes, a 1 metre gang sheet is usually better value. You fill the 57 cm x 100 cm area with as many prints as you can fit, then trim them out and press as needed. This is how most of our regular brand and trade customers order.

Not sure which route is cheaper for your job? Upload your artwork and tell us roughly how many garments you’re planning to press. We’ll compare A-sizes vs 1 m sheets and point you at the most cost-effective option – no guesswork.

Why Order DTF Transfers from Brandum?

Brandum is a real print shop in London, not just an online-only reseller. We use DTF every day for our own T-shirt and workwear printing, so the same transfers we sell here are the ones we trust on our customers’ garments.

  • Printed in-house: all transfers are printed, cured and checked in our London workshop.
  • High-opacity white: tuned for dark garments, hi-vis and workwear – not just fashion blanks.
  • Real-world settings: our guides come from constant testing, not guesses.
  • Support when things go wrong: if a press recipe isn’t working, send us photos and we’ll help you dial it in.
  • Fast turnaround: many orders ship within 24–72 hours once artwork is approved. Same-day may be possible depending on capacity.

Make the Most of Each Sheet (Gang Sheet Tips)

Yes, you can put multiple designs on one sheet – and you should. Using sheets as gang sheets is the best way to keep your cost per logo down.

Fill the space with mixed logos, back prints, sleeve hits and size tags. Leave a few millimetres between each design so you can cut them out cleanly with scissors or a rotary cutter.

If you’re not confident building gang sheets, you’ve got options:

The goal is simple: squeeze as much usable print area out of each sheet as possible so you’re not paying for empty space.

Colour Accuracy You Can Rely On

We’re fussy about colour because we print for brands that care what their logo looks like. Our DTF printers are profiled with a spectrophotometer and we work in sRGB, so the colours you see on screen have a fair chance of matching the transfers that arrive.

You’ll get strong, opaque whites on dark garments and bright, clean colour on lights. If colour accuracy is critical for your brand, tell us in the order notes and include your colour references – we’ll pay extra attention on your first run so we can repeat it reliably in future.

DTF Transfers – Frequently Asked Questions

Often yes, but you need the right settings and you have to watch out for dye migration and press marks. We generally use a slightly lower temperature and test on a spare garment first. For deeper detail, have a read of our guide on DTF printing on polyester and sportswear.

Most DTF transfer orders leave the workshop within 24–72 hours once artwork is approved. If you’ve got a hard deadline or need transfers for the same day in London, let us know in the notes or request a quote and we’ll tell you honestly what we can do.

Usually, yes – if you have multiple logos, sizes or designs. If you only need one or two larger prints, an A3 or A4 sheet might be enough. If you’re unsure, upload your artwork and we’ll compare the options for you rather than leaving you to guess.

In many cases, yes. We’ll check the fabric content, seams and any coatings to make sure the garment is suitable for DTF. Bringing a spare or two is always a good idea in case something unexpected happens during testing or printing.

No. That’s the whole point of ordering from us. You just need a reliable heat press. We handle the printing, curing and quality control, and you press on demand for your customers.

Keep them flat, cool and dry, away from direct sunlight and humidity. A clean folder or box is ideal. Avoid radiators, windowsills and damp stockrooms. Stored properly, transfers can stay usable for months – we cover this in more depth in our storage guide.

What Exactly Are DTF Transfer Prints?

Direct to Film transfer prints, also known as DTF transfer prints are considered the cutting edge technology for printing on t shirts. However it would be an understatement to limit their applications to garment printing. Similar to high end Direct to Garment printing (DTG printing) DTF printers use industrial inkjet printers to bring designs to life. These printers first apply the colour layer onto a heat transfer film. Then add the layer where needed. The transfer film is then passed through an applicator. Finally cured in an oven.

The end result is a to apply transfer that requires no weeding, no pre treatment and leaves behind no residue.

The difference between DTG prints and DTF prints is striking. Gone are the days of whites and uneven colours. DTF prints offer the boldness and vibrancy of screen printing while still maintaining the range of colours and intricate details found in inkjet art prints.

Not are DTF transfer prints cost effective and efficient but they also deliver significantly superior results compared to DTG printers.

In essence there’s simply no reason to use a DTG printer anymore or even consider screen printing or vinyl printing when you have access, to DTF transfer prints.
