Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 4 September 2026
These terms apply to all orders placed with Brandum Limited from that date.

Please read this before ordering. Section 18 explains that most of what we make cannot be cancelled or returned once you have approved it, because it is printed to your own design. Section 8 explains that you must own the rights to any artwork you send us. Section 10 explains the colour tolerances that apply to printed garments. Section 13 explains what we are and are not responsible for when you press transfers yourself.

1. Who we are

This website and the goods and services described on it are provided by Brandum Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 14922763.

Registered office792 Wickham Road, Croydon, England, CR0 8EA
Trading addressUnit 2 Sherrard Works, 1A Sherrard Road, London E7 8DN
Emailcustomersupport@brandum.com
Telephone020 8471 8889

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Brandum Limited. "You" and "your" mean the person or business placing the order.

2. Which parts apply to you

These terms apply to every order you place with us, whether through our website, by email, by telephone or in person. Please read them before you order. By placing an order you accept them.

  • Sections 1 to 17 and 21 to 25 apply to everyone.
  • Sections 18 and 19 apply only if you are a consumer — an individual buying wholly or mainly for purposes outside your trade, business, craft or profession.
  • Section 20 applies only if you are a business customer — a company, or an individual buying wholly or mainly for business purposes. Nothing in section 20 applies to consumers.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights. Where anything here conflicts with your legal rights as a consumer, your legal rights apply.

3. Definitions

  • Artwork — any logo, image, text, design or file you send us, or ask us to use, for reproduction on goods.
  • Custom goods — goods we decorate, print or embroider to your design, specification or personalisation. This includes printed and embroidered garments, transfers and gang sheets built from your artwork.
  • Gang sheet — a sheet containing multiple transfer designs, laid out to your specification, which you apply to garments yourself.
  • Proof — a visual mock-up, digital layout or physical sample we send you for approval before production.
  • Working day — Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in England.

4. How a contract is formed

  1. Prices and product descriptions on our website are an invitation to order, not an offer you can accept to form a contract.
  2. When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy from us.
  3. Any automatic acknowledgement confirming that we have received your order is not acceptance. It simply confirms your order reached us.
  4. A contract is formed only when we send you a separate written confirmation that we are proceeding — normally when we confirm your approved proof, or when we despatch your order, whichever is first.
  5. We may decline any order. If we do, we will tell you and refund any payment in full. We are not obliged to give reasons.
  6. You can correct mistakes in your order at any point before you submit it, using the on-screen controls provided. After submission, contact us immediately and we will change your order if production has not begun.

5. Prices and payment

  1. The price of your order is the price shown at the time you order, or the price in the written quotation we have given you.
  2. Brandum Limited is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to our prices. Prices shown to consumers are the total you pay and include any charge you must necessarily pay to buy the item. Where a delivery charge applies as standard, it is included in the total shown before you order. Optional upgrades, such as express delivery, are shown separately.
  3. Quotations are valid for 30 days unless we state otherwise, and assume the specification, quantity and artwork on which they were based. If any of those change, we will requote before proceeding.
  4. Setup, origination or artwork charges, where they apply, are shown before you order.
  5. Unless we have agreed credit terms with you in writing, payment is due in full before we begin production.
  6. Preparatory work you ask us to carry out — including artwork redraws, digitising and colour matching — is chargeable whether or not the order goes into production, provided we told you the charge before we started.

6. Pricing errors

We take care to price correctly, but errors happen. If we discover an error in the price of what you have ordered before we accept your order, we will contact you, explain the correct price, and ask whether you want to continue. If we cannot reach you, we will treat the order as cancelled and refund you in full. We will not supply at the incorrect price without telling you first.

7. Artwork you send us

  1. You are responsible for the artwork you send us, including its content, spelling, sizing, placement and quality.
  2. Please keep your own copy of every file you send us. We are not responsible for the loss or corruption of files you have supplied, and we do not undertake to archive them.
  3. We do not check the accuracy of artwork you supply. We do not proofread text, verify spelling, or confirm that names, numbers, dates or sizes are correct. That remains your responsibility throughout.
  4. Artwork should be supplied to the specification set out on our design file setup page. Where files fall below that standard we will tell you, and we will either advise what is needed or, if you ask us to proceed anyway, clause 7.5 applies.
  5. Low-resolution, pixelated or poorly prepared artwork will not improve through printing. Where you instruct us to proceed with artwork we have advised is unsuitable, we will produce the best result the file allows, and we are not responsible for the quality of that reproduction.
  6. Gang sheets are a print-only service supplied at reduced pricing on the basis that you have verified the layout, sizing and content before submitting it.
  7. Timing. Our production times run from the point we have your final approved artwork and cleared payment, not from the date you placed the order. Delays in supplying artwork, answering our questions or approving a proof move the completion date accordingly.

8. Rights in your artwork

  1. By sending us artwork you confirm that you own it, or that you have permission from the owner to have it reproduced on goods, and that reproducing it will not infringe anyone else's rights.
  2. You keep ownership of your artwork. You give us permission to use it only so far as we need to in order to produce your order.
  3. If a third party makes a claim against us because of artwork you supplied, you will be responsible for the costs, losses and damages we reasonably incur as a result — provided we tell you about the claim promptly, do not admit it without asking you, and give you a reasonable opportunity to deal with it. If you are a consumer, this applies only where the claim arises from your own fault, and you will never be responsible for more than the losses that were reasonably foreseeable.
  4. We may refuse or stop any job where we believe on reasonable grounds that the artwork infringes someone's rights, or is unlawful, offensive or defamatory. Where we do so before production we will refund you in full; where production has begun we will refund the unproduced balance. We are not obliged to explain our reasoning and we accept no liability for refusing.
  5. Any design, layout or artwork we create for you remains our property until your order is paid for in full, at which point you may use it for the purpose it was created. Our own catalogue designs, templates and website content remain ours throughout.
  6. We may photograph finished work and show it as an example of what we produce, unless you tell us in writing before production that you would rather we did not.

9. Proofs and approval

  1. Where we send you a proof, production does not begin until you approve it in writing.
  2. Once you have approved a proof, you are responsible for the content you approved — including spelling, layout, sizing and placement. We will not reprint free of charge because of an error that was visible on an approved proof.
  3. This does not limit our responsibility for our own work. If the finished goods do not match the proof you approved, or the fault lies in our printing, materials or workmanship, your rights under section 19 or section 20 apply in full.
  4. We allow one set of amendments to a proof at no charge. Further amendments may be chargeable at the rate we tell you before we start.
  5. If you ask us to proceed without a proof, we will produce the job from the file you supplied and you accept responsibility for its content.
  6. A digital proof shows layout and content. It is not a colour-accurate representation — see section 10.

10. Colour

  1. Colours shown on a screen will not match printed colours exactly. Screens vary in calibration, brightness and colour profile, and no screen can accurately represent ink on fabric.
  2. Where you supply a Pantone or other colour reference, we will match it as closely as our inks, process and your chosen garment allow. An exact match cannot be guaranteed, and colour will vary between print methods, ink systems, fabric types and garment colours.
  3. A reasonable variation in colour is a normal characteristic of the goods you are ordering, and we draw this to your attention before you order. Between separate production runs, and between different garment batches, some variation should be expected. This is particularly true of discharge and water-based inks.
  4. If exact colour consistency matters to your order, tell us before you order and we will advise what is achievable and whether a physical sample is needed. Where we supply a physical sample and you approve it, that sample is the standard your order will be matched to.
  5. Nothing in this section affects your rights if the colour we produce falls outside a reasonable variation, or does not match a physical sample you have approved.

11. Garments, sizing and substitutions

  1. Garment sizes follow the manufacturer's own size guide, which we publish or link to. Sizing varies between brands, and a garment fitting differently from another brand you have bought before is not a fault. We recommend checking the size guide before ordering, and ordering a sample where fit is critical.
  2. Blank garments are supplied to us by third-party wholesalers. Occasionally a garment, colour or size becomes unavailable after you have ordered.
  3. If that happens, we will contact you before producing your order and offer you the closest equivalent. We will not substitute a different garment without your agreement. If you do not want the alternative, you may cancel that part of your order and we will refund you in full.
  4. Natural variations in fabric, weave, shade and finish between garment batches are normal and are not a defect. Where colour consistency across a reorder matters, tell us before you order and we will advise.

12. Garments you supply to us

Please read this if you are sending us your own garments. Decorating garments we did not supply carries risks we cannot always control, and we want you to understand them before you send anything.

  1. Risks you should know about. Applying heat and pressure to a garment can cause scorching, press marks, shine, shrinkage, or dye migration where colour from the fabric bleeds into the print. This is more likely on polyester and polyester blends, on previously washed or worn garments, on garments of unknown fibre composition, and on garments with existing damage or special finishes. We draw these risks to your attention before you order.
  2. We will inspect and advise. Where we consider a garment you have supplied to be unsuitable for the technique you have asked for, we will tell you before we begin.
  3. Proceeding after advice. If we have advised you that a garment is unsuitable and you ask us in writing to proceed anyway, we will use reasonable care and skill to get the best result we can, but we will not be responsible for the quality of the finished item.
  4. Faults originating in your materials. Where a problem with the finished goods has its origin in the garments or artwork you supplied, that is not a failure on our part. This reflects your statutory position and is not an attempt to limit your rights.
  5. We remain responsible for our own work. If we damage, lose or misplace your garments through our own carelessness — for example by setting a press incorrectly, mishandling your stock or losing it — we are responsible for that, and nothing in this section changes it.
  6. Please send spares. A small proportion of garments are damaged or misprinted in any production run. We ask you to supply 5% extra, or a minimum of 2 items, on any order of customer-supplied garments. Where you do not supply spares and an item is spoiled, we can only replace it if you provide a replacement garment.
  7. Value and insurance. Please tell us before sending if the garments are of unusual value, so we can confirm they are adequately covered. Where you have not told us, our responsibility for loss or damage is limited to the ordinary replacement cost of equivalent blank garments.
  8. Please send garments clean, unworn where possible, and clearly labelled with your order reference. We may charge a handling fee for unsorted or unlabelled deliveries, which we will tell you about before applying it.

13. Transfers you apply yourself

This section matters if you buy transfers or gang sheets from us. We supply the printed transfer. You apply it. The result depends heavily on your equipment and technique, which we have no control over.

  1. We are responsible for supplying transfers that are correctly printed, correctly cured and free from manufacturing defects.
  2. We are not responsible for the outcome once you press them. Application results depend on your heat press and its calibration, the temperature, pressure and dwell time you use, the peel method and timing, the garment you press onto, and the conditions you work in. None of that is within our control.
  3. We publish application guidance on our DTF application guide. Please follow it, and test on a spare garment before pressing a full run.
  4. Where a transfer has failed on application, please stop and contact us before pressing the remainder. We will help you work out whether the cause was the transfer or the application. Continuing to press a batch after a failure limits what we can do to help.
  5. If a transfer is genuinely defective, we will replace it or refund it. That is a fault in what we supplied and your rights under section 19 or 20 apply.
  6. Transfers should be stored flat, out of direct sunlight, away from heat and humidity, and used within the period we state. We are not responsible for transfers that have deteriorated in storage after delivery.

14. Production times and delivery

  1. Production time depends on the size of your order and the decoration method. As a guide, most orders are produced within one to five working days from the point we receive your approved proof and cleared payment. Larger orders, embroidery and multi-colour screen printing sit at the longer end of that range; small transfer orders are often same or next day.
  2. We will confirm the production time for your specific order in writing before you commit. Where you need something urgently, tell us and we will confirm whether we can meet your date and whether a rush charge applies.
  3. Production time is in addition to delivery time.
  4. We will do everything we reasonably can to meet the timescales we give you. If something delays your order, we will contact you promptly, explain what has happened and agree a new date with you. If the new date does not work for you, you may cancel the affected part of your order and we will refund you in full for it.
  5. If you have a deadline, tell us in writing before you order. Where we confirm in writing that we accept a deadline, that date forms part of our contract with you. Where we have not confirmed a deadline in writing, we have not agreed to one.
  6. Unless we have agreed otherwise, we will deliver within 30 days of the contract being formed.
  7. Delivery is to the address you give us. Please check it carefully — we are not responsible for a delivery that fails because the address you supplied was incomplete or incorrect, though we will help you trace a parcel where we can. Redelivery to a corrected address may be chargeable.
  8. Once a parcel has been handed to a courier we depend on their network. Where a courier loses or delays a parcel we will pursue it with them on your behalf and put things right for you.
  9. If you are a consumer, the goods remain our responsibility until they come into your physical possession, or the possession of someone you have nominated to receive them.

15. Looking after printed garments

  1. We supply care instructions with every order and publish them on our website. Following them is important to the life of the decoration.
  2. Unless we tell you otherwise for a particular product, printed and embroidered garments should be washed inside out at 30 °C, not tumble dried, not ironed directly on the decoration, and not washed with bleach or fabric conditioner.
  3. Under normal domestic use and correct care, you should expect the decoration to last the reasonable life of the garment.
  4. Damage caused by not following the care instructions, by industrial or commercial laundering, by misuse, or by ordinary wear and tear over time, is not a fault in the goods.
  5. If a print cracks, lifts or fades sooner than you would reasonably expect despite correct care, that may be a fault — please contact us and section 19 or 20 applies.

16. Screens and production items

  1. Screens, films, digitised embroidery files, plotter files and similar production items remain our property, even where we have charged you a setup or digitising fee. That fee covers their production and use on your order, not ownership of them.
  2. We are not obliged to keep them, and we may dispose of them after your order is complete unless you have asked us in writing to retain them and we have agreed.
  3. If you want to own a digitised embroidery file outright so that you can use it elsewhere, ask us — we will quote separately and confirm any transfer of ownership in writing.

17. Work you have not collected

  1. We will store finished goods free of charge for 30 days from the date we tell you they are ready.
  2. After that we may charge a reasonable storage fee at the rate we tell you in advance.
  3. If goods remain uncollected, we will write to you asking you to collect them, telling you where they are and what, if anything, you owe.
  4. If they remain uncollected after that, we will send a further written notice, by recorded delivery, telling you we intend to sell or dispose of them and giving you a reasonable further period to collect. Where money is owed to us, that period will be at least three months.
  5. If we then sell the goods, we will account to you for the proceeds after deducting our reasonable costs of sale and anything you owe us. We will not sell while there is a genuine dispute about what is owed.
  6. Custom-printed goods carrying your logo generally have no resale value, so in most cases the practical outcome is disposal rather than sale.

18. Consumers: cancellation rights

This section applies only if you are a consumer.

18.1 Goods that cannot be cancelled

You do not have the usual 14-day right to change your mind for anything we make to your own design or personalise for you. This is because the law does not give a right to cancel for goods that are made to your specifications or are clearly personalised.

This means there is no right to cancel for:

  • garments printed or embroidered with your logo, artwork, name, number or text;
  • transfers and gang sheets produced from artwork you supplied or laid out to your specification;
  • any other item we decorate to your own design or personalise for you.

We tell you this before you order, and again in your order confirmation.

18.2 Goods you can cancel

You do have the right to cancel within 14 days, without giving a reason, for blank undecorated garments and workwear, and any stock item bought without personalisation.

The 14 days run from the day you, or someone you nominate, receives the goods. Where an order is delivered in instalments, the period runs from the day you receive the last item.

To cancel, tell us clearly — email customersupport@brandum.com, telephone 020 8471 8889, or write to us at the trading address in section 1. You may use the model cancellation form, but you do not have to.

Return the goods to us without undue delay and within 14 days of telling us. Goods must be returned unworn, unwashed and in a resaleable condition with any packaging and labels intact. You pay the cost of return unless the goods are faulty or misdescribed. We will refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of you providing evidence that you have sent them, whichever is earlier. We may reduce the refund to reflect any reduction in value caused by handling the goods beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

18.3 Decorating garments you supply

Where you send us your own garments for decoration, we are providing a service rather than selling you goods. You have 14 days from the day we agree the work to cancel it.

Because our production times are usually shorter than that, we ask you when you order to expressly request that we start work within the 14-day period, and to acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel once we have completed the work. If you cancel after we have started but before we finish, you pay a proportionate amount for the work already done.

19. Consumers: faulty goods

This section applies only if you are a consumer. Nothing in these terms removes or reduces these rights.

Goods we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. "Satisfactory quality" includes appearance and finish, freedom from minor defects, and durability.

Within 30 daysYou may reject faulty goods and get a full refund. We pay the cost of return.
After 30 daysYou may ask us to repair or replace the goods, at no cost to you. We will do so within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you.
If that failsIf a repair or replacement does not fix the problem, or we cannot do it within a reasonable time, you may keep the goods and ask for a price reduction, or reject them for a refund. Within the first six months we will not deduct anything for your use of them.
First six monthsIf a fault appears within six months of delivery, it is assumed to have been there when we delivered — we would have to show otherwise.

These rights last for up to six years from delivery. There is no shorter deadline for reporting a fault, though telling us as soon as you notice one helps us put it right quickly and helps us establish what went wrong.

Where we provide a service, we must carry it out with reasonable care and skill. If we do not, you can ask us to put it right, or ask for a price reduction if we cannot.

The exceptions are where the problem has its origin in materials you supplied (clause 12.4), where you instructed us to proceed against our advice (clauses 7.5 and 12.3), or where it arises from your own application of a transfer (clause 13.2).

To report a fault, email customersupport@brandum.com with your order number and photographs where possible. Please keep the goods until we have resolved matters, as we may need them back. We aim to respond within 2 working days.

20. Business customers: additional terms

This section applies only if you are a business customer. It does not apply to consumers, and sections 18 and 19 do not apply to you.

20.1 Scope

These are our standard terms of business. Any terms you put forward — including terms on a purchase order — do not apply unless we have agreed to them in writing. Our acceptance of your order is conditional on these terms applying.

20.2 No right to cancel

The consumer cancellation rights in section 18 do not apply to business customers. Once we have accepted your order and begun production, it cannot be cancelled. If we agree to cancel, you remain liable for work done, materials ordered and a reasonable charge for the production slot reserved.

20.3 Quantity tolerance

We will endeavour to deliver the exact quantity ordered. Orders are subject to a tolerance of plus or minus 5%, charged or credited accordingly. If an exact quantity is essential, tell us in writing before you order and we will price accordingly.

20.4 Inspection and claims

Please inspect goods on delivery and tell us of any shortage, damage or visible defect within 14 days. For defects that could not reasonably have been discovered on inspection, tell us within a reasonable time of discovering them. We will not treat a claim as out of time where the defect was not reasonably discoverable earlier.

20.5 Payment

Unless we have agreed credit terms in writing, payment is due before production. Where credit terms apply, invoices are payable within 30 days of invoice date, time being of the essence. We may charge statutory interest and compensation on late payment under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, and may suspend work on any order while sums are overdue.

20.6 Retention of title

Goods remain our property until we have received payment in full. Until then you hold them on our behalf, must keep them separately identifiable and insured, and must not dispose of them. We may recover them and enter your premises to do so where payment is overdue. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.

20.7 Lien

We may retain any of your goods or materials in our possession against sums you owe us, and may deal with them under section 17 after giving you the notices described there.

20.8 Liability to business customers

Subject to clause 21.1, our total liability to you in connection with any order is limited to the price of that order. We are not liable to business customers for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of contracts, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill, wasted expenditure, or any indirect or consequential loss — including where you have resold our goods or relied on them for an event or deadline. We recommend you insure against such losses. This limit reflects the price charged and the availability of insurance to you, and we consider it reasonable — if it does not suit your circumstances, contact us before ordering and we will discuss alternative terms.

21. Our liability

  1. We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
  2. If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
  3. If you are a consumer, we do not supply goods for commercial resale, and we have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
  4. We are not responsible for loss or damage arising from your own breach of these terms, your instructions to proceed against our advice, artwork or garments you supplied, or your own application of transfers.
  5. Limits on our liability to business customers are in clause 20.8.

22. Your personal data

We use your personal data only as set out in our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

23. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please tell us — most things are quickly resolved. Email customersupport@brandum.com or call 020 8471 8889. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and resolve them within 10 working days, telling you if it will take longer.

If you are a consumer and we cannot resolve matters between us, you can seek advice from Citizens Advice on 0808 223 1133 or at citizensadvice.org.uk.

24. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events genuinely outside our reasonable control — for example extreme weather, fire, flood, power failure, or the failure of public networks. We will contact you as soon as we can, and where a delay is substantial you may cancel the affected part of your order and receive a full refund for it.

Ordinary business difficulties — including stock shortages from our suppliers and staff absence — are not events outside our control, and we remain responsible for delays they cause.

25. General

  1. Changes to these terms. We may change these terms for future orders. The terms that apply to your order are those published when you place it. We will not change the terms of an order already accepted, except where we need to reflect a change in the law, and if we do we will tell you and you may cancel and receive a full refund.
  2. Transfer. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another business, and will tell you if we do. Your rights will not be affected. You may transfer yours only with our written agreement, which we will not withhold unreasonably.
  3. Severance. If any part of these terms is found unlawful or unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
  4. Delay. If we do not insist on something you are required to do, or delay in taking action against you, that does not prevent us from doing so later.
  5. Third parties. This contract is between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce it.
  6. Governing law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
  7. Saving your copy. You can save or print this page at any time. We recommend you keep a copy with your order confirmation.
