Custom t-shirt printing London — DTF printed tees at the Brandum studio in East London

Which Printing Method Suits Your Job

Four methods, and the right one depends on your artwork, garment and quantity. We will tell you honestly which is best for your job — including when the cheaper option is the better one.

DTF transfers

Full colour, photographs, gradients, fine detail. Works on cotton, polyester and blends, any garment colour. No per-colour charges. From 1✓ Yes — fastest
Screen printingLarger runs of flat-colour designs. Lowest unit cost once the screens are made, and the most durable finish for big volumes. From 25✗ Allow 5–7 working days
EmbroideryPolos, caps, beanies, fleeces and workwear. A stitched left-chest logo where a print would look wrong. From 1● If the logo is already digitised
VinylNames, numbers and simple one or two colour text. Sports kit, team shirts, event staff. From 1✓ Yes

Most London orders come to us as DTF, because it handles full-colour artwork with no setup fees and no minimum. If you are printing 100+ shirts in one or two flat colours, screen printing will usually work out cheaper — ask and we will price both.

We print the same four ways on hoodies, sweatshirts, polos and tote bags, not just tees — so a mixed order of printed t-shirts and hoodie printing goes through as one job, one delivery.

T-Shirt Printing Prices

Print cost per garment, excluding the garment itself. A blank tee starts from around £2.50 for a budget Gildan and rises with brand and weight, so we quote print and garment together and you see one number.

⚠️ Honest about same-day: it depends on capacity, stock and how print-ready your artwork is. Complex reworks, out-of-stock garments or large runs may push to next day. We will tell you straight away and offer the fastest workable option rather than promise something we cannot hold to.

Need it today? See how our same-day service works, or message us and we will check capacity now.

Garments We Print

We hold common blanks in-house. If you need a specific brand, colour or size, message us first to check stock. You are also welcome to bring your own garments — we will check the fibre content and seams before printing.

Gildan, Fruit of the Loom, Bella+Canvas, Stanley/Stella, AWDis. Crew neck, V-neck, long sleeve, oversized. Budget through to premium heavyweight.

🧥 Hoodies & Sweatshirts

Pullover and zip hoodies, crew-neck sweats. DTF for full-colour graphics, embroidery for chest crests and stitched logos.

👔 Polos & Workwear

Polos, hi-vis vests and jackets, softshells, fleeces. Embroidery or DTF depending on the fabric and the design. See workwear and uniforms.

🧢 Caps, Beanies & Bags

Embroidered caps and beanies, DTF-printed tote bags and aprons. Useful add-ons for event and welcome packs.

How Ordering Works

  1. Send your artwork WhatsApp, email, or the quote form. Include the design file, garment type, sizes, quantities and your deadline.
  2. We check the file and quote We review resolution, colour and placement, check garment stock, and send a price. If the file needs fixing — background removal, a resolution boost, vectorising — we say so straight away rather than printing something that will disappoint you.
  3. You approve a mock-up A digital proof showing placement, print size and colours. Nothing is printed until you approve it. Approve by 1 pm for the best chance of same day.
  4. We print and quality-check Printed, pressed and inspected in our own E7 studio. Every piece is checked before it is packed.
  5. Collect or we deliver Collect from Sherrard Works E7 8DN, take a London courier the same evening, or tracked next-day anywhere in the UK.

Artwork Checklist

Files that tick these boxes get approved fastest and print best:

Format: PNG with a transparent background, PDF, or vector (AI, EPS, SVG). 300 DPI at the size it will be printed.

Colour: sRGB. Include Pantone references if you need an exact brand colour matched in embroidery thread.

Legibility: keep small text and line work at 2.5–3 mm stroke or thicker. Hairlines do not survive pressing.

Placement: tell us where and how big — for example left chest 10 cm, or full back A3 — and we will mock it up.

No time to prep files? Our design team removes backgrounds, vectorises logos and fixes resolution from £25, often within the hour.

T-Shirt Printing London — FAQ

How much does t-shirt printing cost in London?

DTF printing starts from around £10 per garment for small quantities and drops to about £7–£10 from 25 pieces, with volume rates above 100. Those are print costs; the garment is on top, from roughly £2.50 for a budget blank. Screen printing is quoted per job and becomes the cheapest option on larger flat-colour runs. Send your artwork and quantity for an exact price.

Is there a minimum order?

No minimum for DTF, vinyl or embroidery — we will print a single shirt. Screen printing starts from 25 pieces because of the setup involved.

What is the cut-off for same-day printing?

Approve your proof by 1 pm and same-day collection is usually available from 4:30 pm, or we arrange an evening London courier. Later than 1 pm, message us anyway — it often still works, it just depends on what is on the press.

Which printing method should I choose?

DTF for full-colour artwork, photographs or small runs — no setup, no per-colour fees, works on any garment colour. Screen printing for larger runs of one to three flat colours, where the unit cost drops well below DTF. Embroidery for polos, caps and workwear where a stitched logo suits better. Vinyl for names and numbers. Tell us the job and we will recommend one, including when it is the cheaper one.

Can you print on polyester, blends and hi-vis?

Yes. DTF bonds well to cotton, polyester and blends with vivid colour and a properly opaque white, which is why it is our default for sports and performance fabrics as well as standard cotton tees.

Can I bring my own garments?

Usually yes. We check fibre content and seam positions first to make sure the method suits the garment. Bring a spare or two if you can, in case we need a test press.

How long will the print last?

Wash inside out at 30–40°C and avoid tumble drying and a DTF print will hold colour through many dozens of washes. Leave the garment 24 hours after pressing before its first wash. Screen prints and embroidery are more durable again on heavy-use workwear.

Do you deliver outside London?

Yes — tracked next-day delivery across the UK. Same-day courier is London only. If you would rather press transfers yourself, we ship DTF gang sheets nationwide.

Do you print for businesses on account?

Yes. If you order regularly we keep your artwork and sizing on file so reorders take one message. Talk to us about workwear and uniform programmes and repeat-order pricing.

Do you print hoodies and sweatshirts too?

Yes — hoodies, sweatshirts, polos, caps and tote bags all go through the same four methods. Mixed orders are normal: printed t-shirts and hoodies together come through as one job with one delivery. DTF suits full-colour graphics on hoodies; embroidery suits a stitched chest logo.

Can you print just one t-shirt?

Yes. There is no minimum on DTF, vinyl or embroidery and no setup fee, so a single shirt is a normal order for us rather than an awkward one. Collect it from E7 or we will post it.

Where exactly are you based?

Unit 2, Sherrard Works, 1A Sherrard Road, London E7 8DN — between Forest Gate and Woodgrange Park. Everything is printed on site. Directions and contact details.
